Design of Comprehensive Experiment for Olefin Coordination Polymerization Catalyzed by Transition Metal Complexes——The Typical Example for the Structure-property Relationship of Catalysts
A comprehensive experiment involving multiple fields of synthetic chemistry has been developed. The corresponding transition metal complexes are prepared with the synthesized ligands and used to catalyze the coordination polymerization of olefins.Further, the properties of the obtained polymers are also tested. This experiment covers four aspects of ligand synthesis, complex synthesis, polymer synthesis and its property determination. The structural-property relationship of the catalyst in the coordination olefin polymerization can be also observed. The experimental teaching can stimulate students'interests in learning and improve their experimental skills as well as the ability of independent thinking.
