Research progress on pollution status and remediation of per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances in soil and groundwater
Per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances(PFAS)are synthetic, highly persistent compounds widely used in industrial and consumer products.Exhibiting multiple toxicities,PFAS contaminate soil and groundwater and in turn, threaten human health, having garnered widespread attention. In this review, the sources of PFAS contamination in soil and groundwater, their migration pathways, and current contamination status were summarized.A detailed overview of the advancements in remediation technologies for PFAS in soil and groundwater was also provided, with further discussions on potential directions for future research.
