Investigation of the Flow Field Characteristics of Scroll Compressor Suction Process
Aiming at the pre-compression phenomenon in the suction process of the scroll compressor and for purpose of investigating the mechanism of this pre-compression phenomenon and its effect on the com-pression process and the change of the flow field, having the computational fluid dynamics based and the three-dimensional dynamic mesh technique adopted to simulate internal flow field of the scroll compressor at different crankshaft speeds. The results show that, the flow field distribution of the suction chamber and the inlet passages on both sides is asymmetric;at different crank angles, the inlet passage and the suction chamber have different vortex areas. As the crank shaft speed increases, the crankshaft angle is advanced by about 10° to 21° when the pre-compression phenomenon occurs in the suction process, which causes the pressure in the suction chamber to rise by 23.5%to 29.0%,makes the actual suction volume no longer e-qual to the ideal suction volume and the vortex phenomenon at the end of the scroll teeth intensified.
