Investigation on the Damage Mechanism of the Nuclear Power Valves Operability under Seismic Conditions
The operability of nuclear power valves during earthquake is mainly evaluated with tests. In or-der to reduce the design cost of nuclear power valves, having the analysis method based and a gate valve taken as an example to summarize seismic qualification process for the nuclear power valve's operability was implemented, including expounding impact mechanism of earthquake on the operability of valves, making use of the finite element method to research both stress and contact pressure changes of each part of the valve when it is subjected to seismic load during opening and closing process,as well as conducting the seismic check of the valve based on the operability and structural integrity, respectively. It's concluded that, the earthquake's influence on the valve operability can amplify the contact pressure of sliding friction parts, enhance the friction on closing and postponing valve. The seismic identification process based on op-erational analysis is more comprehensive and demanding.
