Safety Analysis of the Pressure Within Breathing Valve and Connected Storage Tank Based on Fluent-DPM Method
Taking the breathing valve and its connected storage tank system as the object of research, the Fluent-DPM calculation method was used to calculate the breathing valve's suction process under specific working conditions,to analyze both fluid velocity field distribution and pressure change rule within the tank as well as to be compared with the Cradle CFD calculation results to verify reliability of the calculated re-sults.The results show that, two large vortices occur in the tank after the breathing valve aspirated. The maximum velocity appears at the bottom position and the velocity increases from inside to outside, which leads to the suction of the tank more easily. When DN 150 breathing valve is selected, the lowest negative pressure in the tank is-2 598.42 Pa,which is less than the maximum negative pressure that the tank can withstand and no instability occurs to the tank at this time.
