Nonlinear Analysis of the Sealing Gasket of Nuclear Shell-to-Tube Heat Exchanger
Making use of finite element analysis method to investigate sealing performance of the nuclear shell-tube heat exchanger's flange-bolt-joint was implemented, including having the gasket's nonlinear ma-terial characteristics considered and ANSYS adopted to establish a parameterized finite element model.Through nonlinear analysis, the sealing gasket's compressive stress was extracted and the sealing reliability of the structure was verified after comparing the compressive stress with the sealing pressure ratio and gas-ket coefficient. The sensitivity factors of gasket position and gasket width which affecting the sealing perfor-mance were studied. The results show that, the sealing performance becomes better while the position of the gasket tends to the inside of the sealing surface. The width of the gasket decreases and the sealing perfor-mance becomes better.
