Numerical Simulation of Stress Corrosion of Oil and Gas Pipelines with Defects in the Soil Environment
Having the FEM simulation method based to analyze electrochemical corrosion characteristics of high-strength steel pipeline stressed with different soil ion(Cl-,HCO3-,SO42-)concentrations and at different temperatures was implemented. The results show that, with the increase of both ion concentration and temperature, the corrosion current density at the defect tends to increase;in the plastic strain stage, the stress becomes concentrated in the defect center and the mechanical-electrochemical effect gets to be significant and the corrosion at the defect center becomes more seriously than that at both ends and the corrosion current density at the defect center becomes significantly increased.
