Research Progress in Dewatering Methods for Crude Oil Recovery Fluids
As the major oilfields come to the late stage of extraction, the application of"three extraction methods"and various oil-driving technologies results in the increasing of the water content in the extracted fluid and has difficulties in emulsion-breaking there gradually. In this paper, the commonly-used dewatering techniques and their characteristics were summarized, including the gravity settlement method,thermo-chemical demuisification method and the electric field force. In addition, the research progress in new de-watering methods such as the ultrasonic wave, fiber membrane and the mechanical cyclone were introduced and their application prospects were discussed. Finally, both problems and shortcomings of familiar crude oil dehydration processes were analyzed, and three new dehydration processes were reviewed and the later research direction concerned was prospected.
