Numerical Simulation and Experimental Study on Impact Noise of Axial Flow Check Valves
Having LMS Virtual.Lab acoustic software used to investigate the impact noise of the axial flow check valve at the moment of closing was implemented. The results show that, the impact noise has obvious directionality and the sound pressure level in the collision direction outperforms that in the direction per-pendicular to the collision. With the increasing of the disc impact velocity, the level of impact noise's ra-diation sound pressure increases accordingly. In addition, the noise test of the steel ball hitting steel plate was carried out and compared with the numerical simulation results to verify both reliability and feasibility of the numerical simulation method. This study benefits the improvement of equipment safety through con-sidering working state of the valve when it is closed, including improving the valve, reducing the possibili-ty of noise generation and promoting performance of the equipment.
