Electroosmotic dewatering technology(EDW)is an emerging efficient deep dewatering method for sludge that has garnered sig-nificant attention.Reviewing the current research status of EDW both domestically and internationally. It focuses on elucidating the effects of sludge physical parameters(such as sludge type, conductivity,pH value, and Zeta potential)and operational parameters(including sludge thickness,me-chanical pressure, voltage, and the method of applying the electric field)on EDW,and the energy consumption issues associated with EDW and pro-poses energy-saving measures.Additionally,it discusses major challenges in EDW,such as anode corrosion,Joule heating, anode drying, and filtrate treatment,as well as existing solutions to these problems.
