Can Digital Inclusive Finance Promote High-Quality Agricultural Development——On the Mechanism of Influence and Spatial Effects
Focusing on promoting high-quality agricultural development is an important foundation and key support for promoting modernization of agriculture and rural areas in China.China is currently in a critical period of transformation from a great agricultural country to an agricultural powerhouse.The problems of unbalanced,uncoordinated,large but not strong,and numerous but not excellent agricultural development are prominent,and promoting comprehensive rural revitalization is a long and arduous task.Digital inclusive finance,as an important component of rural financial supply,is an inherent requirement for achieving high-quality agricultural development in China.By constructing and measuring an indicator system for high-quality agricultural development and using provincial panel data from 2011 to 2022 and Peking University digital inclusive finance data,this study empirically analyzes the impact of digital inclusive finance on high-quality agricultural development.Research has shown that,firstly,for every 1%increase in the development level of digital inclusive finance,the level of high-quality agricultural development increases by about 0.08%,and the gap between the East and West of high-quality agricultural development narrows by about 0.15%.Secondly,the promoting effect of digital inclusive finance on the high-quality development of agriculture has a positive regulatory effect on the supply side of digital inclusive finance caused by the alleviation of information asymmetry,and a partial intermediary effect on the demand side caused by the large-scale operation of agriculture.Thirdly,digital inclusive finance has a strong positive spatial spillover effect on the high-quality development of agriculture.Promoting the supply and demand adaptation of agriculture and rural finance through digital inclusive finance is a policy focus to achieve high-quality development of agriculture.In the future,we can further fill the gaps in rural digital communication infrastructure,encourage moderate scale operation of agriculture,release economies of scale effects,accelerate regional coordinated development,and promote the effective improvement of quality and reasonable growth of quantity in agriculture.
