The land reclamation policies during the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty provided the prerequisites for agricultural technology dissemination and exchange in the southeastern region of Guizhou Province. The influx of a large number of immigrants resulted in mutual learning and exchange between the immigrants and local ethnic minorities in terms of crops, agricultural technology, agricultural ideologies, and culture. As a result, agriculture in the southeastern region of Guizhou experienced unprecedented development during this period. On one hand, production techniques from the Central Plains were introduced to the Miao and Dong areas. On the other hand, the unique cultivation techniques of the Miao and Dong ethnic groups were inherited and developed.By studying the agricultural technology and cultural exchange between the Han people who migrated after the land reclamation and the Miao and Dong peoples in Guizhou from the perspective of agricultural history, valuable insights can be gained for the modernization of agriculture in current ethnic regions.
