A Study on the Remnants of the Dunhuang Manuscript Xin Hai Ji
Xin Hai Ji of Dunhuang manuscripts S.3016 and S.2295 was a relatively random biography made by copyists for the convenience of personal memorization, and its copying time should have been in the Middle and Late Tang Dynasty. From the perspective of content, each of the chapters is a systematic exposition of the Buddhist character view, devotional practice view, and liberation view ofSouthern Zen.From a formal perspective, the Xin Hai Ji is clearly influenced by the stylized form of Chinese Buddhist hymns, but it emphasizes rhythm and is relatively flexible in application, resulting in a large number of synonymous aggregation.
