Juchengtang was one of more than 20 bookshops in Fuzhou's Nanhou Street in the late Qing Dynasty.The operators,Zhang Shiyong and Zhang Shiqiu,were well-known for their expertise in ancient books,calligraphy and painting,and edition identification.It housed the complete editions of ancient books in the bookshop and was frequented by modem literati and artists.After descripting the beginning of Juchengtang and the historical direction,this paper describes its collections and their structure.The collections concluded Engravings,ancient books,and the Republic of China and other documents,most of which are the works of famous scholars in Fujian,making up for the loss of some paper-based literature,and enriching the local cultural resources in Fujian.Thus rescue protection and in-depth study of the collections will be beneficial to carry on Chinese excellent traditional culture and strengthen cultural self-confidence.
