The presentation and continuation of culture represent a holistic and diachronic unity, encompassing various levels and developmental trajectories. This paper combines theories of cultural traits with the realities of islands and polders to distill cultural trait forms and their aggregation into exchange circles, kinship circles, and folklore circles. These three cultural layers can be embedded within the overall cultural sphere of the Pearl River Delta islands.Furthermore, from the perspective of integrating culture and tourism, the paper outlines island cultural protection strategies through cultural trait integration.First,it integrates cultural traits to form a water-linked folk landscape,an ecological science landscape derived from land reclamation, and a red education landscape for national defense.Second,it incorporates cultural tourism routes into the historical and cultural district development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.Third,it emphasizes the coexistence of cultural protection and diverse village livelihoods, enhancing endogenous rural development and forming a positive protection path with island and polder characteristics.
