The Legend Narrative of Ethnic Communication and Blending:Centered on the Legend of Laojun at Weibao Mountain in Dali
The legend of Laojun at Weibao Mountain in Dali is a folk literature of multi-ethnic identity in southwest China. Its formation is closely related to the exchange of geographical visits and national exchanges, which shows the local development process and the reproduction of the local significance of Taoism. The people who influenced Xinuluo, king of Nanzhao, experienced the change of written narrative(Sanskrit monk),oral narrative(Laojun)and physical narrative(relics),mainly the cultural integration of Taoism/Buddhism,folk/official,Yi ethnic group/Han ethnic group, and legend/documents,which represented the variability and vitality of national folklore. The legend of Laojun at Weibao Mountain is not only the continuation of traditional Taoist culture, but also the cross-regional,cross-ethnic and cross-cultural blending and inter-ethnic identity construction, which is the composite result of multi-ethnic factors'interaction, game and collusion. This provides a case study for the cultural exchange and blending and national identity of the southwest frontier.
