Influence of blood lipid metabolism level on sleep quality in patients with essential hypertension
Objective:To explore the effect of blood lipid metabolism level on sleep quality in patients with essential hypertension(EH).Methods:160 patients with EH in a hospital from January 2022 to October 2023 were selected as study subjects.General infor-mation,blood lipid levels[(high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),triglycerides(TG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)),fasting blood glucose(FPG)levels, and sleep quality scores(Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)]were collected.Sleep quality scores of EH patients with different clinical data were compared;multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to i-dentify the influencing factors of sleep quality in EH patients;ROC curve was plotted to analyze the value of predicting blood lipid me-tabolism levels for sleep quality;correlation between lipid metabolism levels and sleep quality score was explored using Pearson correla-tion analysis. Results:Among the 160 questionnaires,4 were found to be unqualified,2 withdrew on their own,and 154 EH patients were ultimately selected, with a sleep quality score of(14.62±3.17)points.Univariate analysis showed that there were no statistically significant differences(P>0.05)in sleep quality scores among EH patients of different genders, ages,EH course,24 h average SBP and DBP,educational background, place of residence, drinking history, smoking history, and FPG.The sleep quality score of EH pa-tients with BMI≥24 kg/m2,HDL-C≤1.3 mmol/L,LDL-C≥3.37 mmol/L,and TG≥1.7 mmol/L was higher than that of EH patients with BMI<24 kg/m2,HDL-C>1.3 mmol/L,LDL-C<3.37 mmol/L,and TG<1.7 mmol/L,and the difference was statistically sig-nificant(P<0.05).The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that low HDL-C and high BMI,LDL-C,and TG levels were all risk factors affecting sleep quality in EH patients(P<0.05).ROC analysis showed that the AUC of HDL-C,LDL-C,and TG predic-ting sleep quality in EH patients were 0.774,0.823,and 0.893,respectively,with sensitivity of 76.92%,79.49%,and 82.05%,and specificity of 71.05%,73.68%,and86.84%,respectively.Pearson analysis showed that sleep quality score of EH patients was negatively correlated with HDL-C levels(r=-0.589,P<0.001),and positively correlated with LDL-C and TG(r=0.673,0.752,all P<0.001).Conclusion:The sleep quality of EH patients is influenced by levels of BMI,HDL-C,LDL-C,and TG,and lipid metabolism levels can be an effective indicator for predicting sleep quality in EH patients.
