Study and analysis of correlation of D-dimer,serum CRP and fibrinogen with staging and severity of ulcerative colitis
Objective:To investigate the correlation of D-dimer(D-D),fibrinogen(FIB)and serum C-reactive protein(CRP)in peripheral blood with staging and severity of ulcerative colitis. Methods:Clinical data of 100 cases of ulcerative colitis admitted to a hospital from April 2022 to March 2024 were retrospectively included as an observation group, and based the Sutherland Disease Activi-ty Index, they were re-divided into a remission period group(0~2 points,47 cases),and an active period group(>2 points,53 ca-ses).Based on severity of the disease, the active period group were again divided into a mild group(3~5 points,22 cases),a mod-erate group(6~10 points,17 cases)and a severe group(11~12 points,14 cases).98 healthy medical checkups were selected as a control group in the same period.Peripheral blood D-D,FIB and serum CRP levels were compared among all the groups.Correlation of levels of peripheral D-D,FIB and serum CRP with staging and severity of the disease was analyzed with Spearman. Results:The periph-eral blood D-D,FIB,and serum CRP levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),higher in the active group than those in the remission group(P<0.05),and higher in the severe group than those in the mild group and the moderate group(P<0.05).The peripheral blood D-D,FIB,and serum CRP were positively correlated with disease stage(r=0.627,0.633,0.631,P<0.05)and with disease severity(r=0.604,0.584,0.604,P<0.05).Conclusion:Levels of D-D in peripheral blood,FIB and serum CRP are highly expressed in patients with ulcerative colitis, positively correlated with the disease stage and sever-ity,and are increased with the severity of the disease, which can be used as an important reference to evaluate the progression of the disease in patients with ulcerative colitis.
