Construction status and distribution characteristics of national important wetlands in China
The important wetlands at the national level, composed of internationally important wetlands and nationally important wetlands, are an important part of China's wetland protection system. They play an important role in protecting China's wetland environment and biodiversity, and in giving play to the ecological functions of wetlands. This article compares and studies the construction process and spatial distribution pattern of 63 internationally important wetlands and 29 nationally important wetlands in China, revealing the differences between the development dynamics and distribution characteristics of different types of important wetlands. The results show that the important wetlands at the national level tend to be concentrated in different provinces, and compared with the internationally important wetlands, the number of nationally important wetlands is smaller, with a higher geographical concentration index, making their distribution more concentrated nationwide. The internationally and nationally important wetlands mainly rely on natural protected areas and national wetland parks for construction. There is a significant difference in area between different important wetlands. The area of the internationally important wetlands is larger, with relatively higher ecological representation and importance. At the same time, currently, the proportion of important wetlands at the national level in the total amount of wetland is relatively small in China. In the future, more weight should be given to them in the hierarchical management system of wetland, and management measures should be introduced to strengthen their protection and management.
