Determine the heavy metal speciation in municipal sludge by microwave-ultrasonic wave assisted extraction technology
The disposal of heavy metals in municipal sludge has always been a hotspot issue in domestic and overseas. The composition of municipal sludge is complex, and the water content is high.So it is difficult to extract and determine the morphology of heavy metals.A microwave-ultrasonic sequential extraction method was used for the determination of heavy metals in municipal sludge. The amounts of digestion solution, extraction reagent, and ultrasonic time for different forms of aluminum, cadmium, chromium, copper, nickel, lead, zinc, barium, arsenic, and mercury in urban sludge were optimized. The mass fractions of various forms of heavy metals were determined by ICP-AES and AFS.The results showed that the method had good linear relationships for the determination of mass fractions of various forms of heavy metals in urban sludge, with correlation coefficients greater than 0.9995.The detection limits were 0.005 ug/L~0.009 mg/L.The limits of quantification were 0.833 ug/kg~1.50 mg/kg.The Standard recovery rate were 81.3%~114.6%.The recoveries of heavy metals from sludge samples were 81.8%~100.4%.This method could be applied to detect the different speciation of heavy metals in municipal sludge.
