Influence of different water transfer schemes on the water dynamics and water quality of Shahu Lake
Due to the special geographical location with low rainfall and large evaporation,Shahu Lake requires annual water transfers and diversions to improve water quality and maintain overall water quantity. Therefore,Therefore, the selection of water transfer quantity and route has a key influence on the improvement of water quality in Shahu Lake.Based on the Environmental Fluid Dynamic Code(EFDC)model,a hydrodynamic and water quality model was constructed to simulate the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of the water dynamics, total nitrogen and total phosphorus.Based on the actual water transfer scheme of the Shahu lake,4 water transfer schemes were set up,and the influence of different water transfer schemes on the water power and water quality of the sand lake was explored. The results showed that the water diversion and drainage project could accelerate the flow velocity and reduce the concentration of total nitrogen and total phosphorus, but it would also cause the fluctuation in the water quality.Compared with the water reduction scheme, the water increase scheme had a better effect on increasing the flow velocity water and reducing the concentration of total nitrogen and total phosphorus.Compared with the inflow of the Bayi Canal, the inflow of the Donggan Canal was more conducive to increasing the flow velocity of Shahu lake and reducing the concentration of total nitrogen and total phosphorus. In general, one of the four water transfer schemes(water increase scheme)was the best scheme to improve the hydrodynamic conditions and water quality of the Shahu Lake.
