Feasibility evaluation of dairy waste water as carbon source for sewage treatment plant
The problem of insufficient carbon source in wastewater influent is common in sewage treatment plants in China. To meet the challenges brought by high emission standards, sewage treatment plants need to add carbon sources in the treatment process, which increases the operating cost of sewage treatment and greenhouse gas emissions. The carbon emission of sewage treatment plant is an important part of China's carbon emission, and the completion of its emission reduction target is important for China to achieve the double carbon goal.Food processing wastewater with good biodegradability as a carbon source for biologicalnitrogen removal in sewage treatment plants was supported.Feasibility of the production wastewater of a dairy processing enterprise as an alternative carbon source in sewage treatment plant was analyzed. The results showed that the dairy wastewater had the characteristics of high carbon and low carbon water quality, and could replace commercial carbon sources under the premise of ensuring the effluent standard. As the carbon source of sewage treatment plant, dairy wastewater reduces the operating cost of sewage treatment and the emission of greenhouse gases, which had double benefits of economy and environment.
