Pollution characteristics and ecological risk assessment of heavy metals in the sediments from region lakes of Yellowstone
To understand the lake pollution status from region lakes of Yellowstone,26 surface sediments were collected and 8 heavy metals Cu,Zn,Cd,Pb,Cr,Ni,As and Hg were analyzed. The average values were Lake C>Lake A>Lake B from high to low.Local accumulation index method and Hakanson ecological hazard index method were used to evaluate the pollution status and potential ecological hazards of the lake. The soil accumulation index pollution evaluation shows that the Lake A,Lake B and Lake C are all polluted by heavy metals to a certain extent, especially Cd pollution has reached a heavier degree. The degree of heavy metal pollution in lake sediments from region lakes of Yellowstone is Cd>Cu>As>Hg>Zn>Pb>Ni>Cr.The potential ecological risk assessment showed that Lake A,Lake B and Lake C were all in a very high ecological risk state,Cd was the most important element of ecological risk factors, and the potential ecological hazard order was Lake C>Lake A>Lake B.Comprehensive analysis showed that the heavy metal pollution was the heaviest in the sediment of Lake C,and the pollution of Cd needed to be monitored.
