Multi method prediction of ammonia nitrogen pollution in municipal solid waste landfill and surrounding groundwater
The study employed pollution assessment, health risk assessment, and groundwater simulation pollution prediction methods to investigate the characteristics of ammonia nitrogen pollution in a typical landfill and its impact on the surrounding environment. It is found that groundwater samples in the landfill site have exceeded the limit of ammonia nitrogen, and the exceedance has spread beyond the boundaries of the landfill site. The pollution level and health risks to human health were assessed using pollution assessment and health risk assessment methods. The results showed that the risk level of ammonia nitrogen pollution was low and acceptable.Simulation predictions indicated that the migration rate of pollutants in groundwater was slow, but the high concentration areas of pollutants were expected to gradually decrease after 5 years.Based on the research results, the installation of pumping wells in the migration direction of pollutants was recommended to control pollution dispersion.
