Analysis of Urban Aquatic Community Structure:Taking Suzhou Industrial Park as an Example
To evaluate the aquatic biodiversity and aquatic ecological environment status of Suzhou Industrial Park,a survey was conducted in November 2022(autumn)and May 2023(spring)to investigate the population structure and resource of aquatic organisms in Yangcheng Lake and surrounding rivers and lakes within the Suzhou Industrial Park in spring and autumn. The aim was to evaluate the aquatic biodiversity and aquatic ecological environment status of the area. The analysis results show that a total of 89 species from 7 phyla of phytoplankton,95 species from 4 major categories of zooplankton, and 59 species from 3 major categories of benthic animals have been identified in the region; The average distribution density of phytoplankton, zooplankton, and benthic animals at each survey site in spring is 11.48×10 6 cell/L,2 505.98 ind./L,566.95 ind./m2,respectively,which is greater than the change amplitude in autumn(5.13×10 6 cell/L,1 237.74 ind./L,382.48 ind./m2);The average biomass of phytoplankton, zooplankton, and benthic animals at each survey site in spring were 5.48 mg/L,1.11 mg/L,and 461.31 g/m2,respectively,which were also higher than those in autumn(1.27 mg/L,0.99 mg/L,190.21 g/m2).The Shannon wiener diversity index(H')and Pielou evenness index(J)results indicated that the aquatic biodiversity among different groups of Suzhou Industrial Park was at different levels from good to abundant, while the diversity was from good to excellent.Meanwhile the diversity index of phytoplankton and benthic animals in autumn has decreased significantly compared to spring.Overall, due to the distribution of submerged plants and temperature differences, aquatic organisms in the park exhibit certain spatiotemporal differences; Some water bodies have shown a certain degree of eutrophication, and further monitoring and early warning are needed.
