Analysis of Heavy Metal Content in Five Kinds of Common Edible Economic Fish Species of Lijiang River
An investigation was carried out to study current situation of heavy metals including As,Hg,Cu and Zn enrichment in different fish species living in Lijiang River,Guilin City.Five kinds of fish species incuding Silurus asotus,Hemiculter leucisculus,Misgurnus anguillicaudatus,Sinibrama macrops,Carassius auratus,a total of 34 were collected, and results indicated that the concentrations of As,Hg,Cu,Zn,Pb and Cd were 0.011 6~0.035 5,0.010 0~0.049 8,0.248~0.392,6.91~45.4,0.447~0.796 and 0.137~0.210 mg/kg in the muscle of fish species.Single factor pollution index methodology was used to evaluate the heavy metal pollution level and the results indicated that degree of the heavy metals enriched in fish muscles ranks as Cd>Pb>Zn>Cu>Hg>As.Respectively,Cu and Zn,Pb and Cd in heavy metal levels and sources have a certain degree of similarity.According to the survey,it can be concluded that Pb and Cd in five kinds of fish species of Lijiang River at Guilin section have been exceeding the relevant national standard. The concentration of Pb and Cd accounted for over 10% of provisional tolerable weekly intake (PTWI),which could be identified as high risk for consuming the muscle of five fish species from Lijiang River at Guilin section. It is suggested that per weekly per capita fish consumption is advisably controlling below 0.249 kg.
