Tracing of Hydrocarbon Pollutants in Groundwater around Oil Depot
The traceability analysis of hydrocarbons in groundwater around oil depots is of great practical significance for identifying the sources of hydrocarbon pollutants in groundwater and ensuring the safety of oil depots. The article uses chromatography and chromatography-mass spectrometry methods to analyze the hydrocarbon characteristic components in the floating oil and water samples of groundwater inside and outside the oil depot.Total hydrocarbon chromatographic fingerprint, saturated hydrocarbon bicyclic sesquiterpene fingerprint, and aromatic naphthene series fingerprint characteristic ratios are selected, and the molecular fingerprint characteristic ratios of different structural compounds are combined to ana-lyze the sources of hydrocarbon pollution in groundwater inside and outside the oil depot. The results showed that the chro-matographic fingerprint characteristics of groundwater floating oil inside and outside the oil depot,as well as the ratio of the characteristics of bicyclic sesquiterpenes and aromatic naphthalene series compounds, all showed significant similarities, showing the same source characteristics. The star chart compares the hydrocarbons in the floating oil and groundwater inside and outside the oil depot, and the above characteristic ratios also show similarity, revealing a strong affinity between hydrocarbon pollutants in groundwater around the oil depot and hydrocarbons in the floating oil and groundwater inside the depot. At present, there is a lack of a clear comparative method for identifying the sources of oil and hydrocarbon pollution in groundwater.Dicyclic sesquiterpenes and aromatic naphthalene series compounds can serve as reliable oil source identification indicators, providing an analytical technique for studying the sources of oil and hydrocarbon pollution in groundwater.
