Abstract
The presence and transformation process of metal sulfides in soil pose potential threats to environmental quality, ecological safety, and human health. These compounds primarily originate from natural processes such as rock weathering, geological activities, and microbial actions, and human activities including mining, industrial production, and agricultural practices.Their behavior and transformation in soil are influenced by multiple factors, such as the physicochemical proper-ties of the soil, climatic conditions, and microbial activities, which together determine the bioavailability and toxicity of metal sulfides.Microbial influences on the formation and decomposition of metal sulfides, along with abiotic factors such as climate change, soil pH,and redox conditions, significantly affect their migration and transformation rates.Future research should delve deeper into the micro-interactions of metal sulfides in soil and the long-term effects under environmental changes, while interdisciplinary achievements will provide effective strategies for addressing pollution issues related to metal sulfides in soil.
