Study on the Impact of Emission Trading on Green Development Efficiency in Fujian Province
Green development is an innovative mode of sustainable development based on the traditional development mode. The key to improving green development is to improve the efficiency of green development. In order to further test the impact of emission trading policy on the green development efficiency of Fujian Province, first, the study uses the data envelopment analysis of slacks-based measure to measure the green development efficiency, and then analyzes the impact of emission trading on the green development efficiency of Fujian through synthetic control method by taking provinces that hadn't actually carried out emission trading from 2011 to 2020 as the control group. The results passed the robustness test, and they showed that resource allocation efficiency is the key factor leading to the unbalanced efficiency of green development. The implementation of emission trading policy in Fujian has a significant effect on the promotion of green development efficiency. If emission trading is not implemented in 2015,the green development efficiency could still maintain the efficiency frontier level, and its average green development efficiency would decrease.
