Analysis on Effect of Decoupling Carbon Emissions and Energy Consumption from Economic Development in Sichuan Province
Promoting the low-carbon transition of Sichuan's energy system is not only a strategic need of the high-quality development of whole nation, but is helpful to alleviate the pressure of reducing carbon emissions.Based on the decoupling index which involves the chain expansion and effective combination, and the decoupling stability index, this paper empiri-cally studies the dynamic equilibrium relationship among carbon emissions, energy consumption and economic growth in Sichuan Province from 2000 to 2021,aiming to identify the acting point that can promote the low-carbon transition of Sichuan's energy system. The results show that from the view of the decoupling effect, the situation in terms of decoupling of carbon emissions from economic growth is the best, while the decoupling of carbon emission and energy consump-tion is the worst;and the perspective of time, there exist the dynamically developing decoupling effect and cor-relation-ship among carbon emission, energy consumption and economic development in Sichuan. Moreover, the dynamic devel-opment outcome of decoupling effect and cor-relativity is mainly influenced by energy production and consumption structure, technological innovation level and policy mechanism system. To conclude, the study put forward relative suggestions about adjusting energy structure and increasing scientific research input as a effective measure to realize the energy transition.
