By comparing maritime perspectives with terrestrial ones, this paper seeks to un-derstand historical development from a primarily maritime viewpoint.Starting from Fernand Brau-del's Mediterranean model,it compares the Mediterranean with Asian maritime spaces to identify common oceanic phenomena, and further locates corresponding research areas along the Maritime Silk Road. The ocean serves as both a space for human cooperation and development,character-ized by long-term exchanges, and a site for warfare and conflict. Most oceanic models,operat-ing within a single framework, treat all groups and regions as equal, emphasizing commonalities. If the theory of oceanic models can be applied appropriately,it can better facilitate our under-standing of maritime history.
