Isolation, identification and phylogenetic analysis of a nitrite degrading bacterium
A potential nitrite degrading bacterium AQ-3 was isolated and screened from the aquaculture sediment. The nitrite removal rate of AQ-3 was detected as 99. 47%. Strain AQ-3 was identified as Acinetobacter baumannii (JF751054) through API ID32GN bacterial identification system and 16S rDNA sequence analysis. Its 16S rDNA sequence had homology of 99% with those of Acinetobacter sp. submitted to GenBank.and showed the closest relative to Acinetobacter baumannii strain 14 (FJ907197). In addition, nirS gene、nirK gene and norB gene all existed in strain AQ-3. This study proved strain AQ-3 was a potential nitrite degrading bacterium, and enriched the microbial resources of nitrite degrading bacterium.
