Study on the performance of environmentally friendly metal cutting fluids
Oleic acid, diethanolamine, boric acid and benzotriazole were employed as raw materials to produced diglyco-lamide oleate borate and hydroxymethylation benzotriazole by using transesterification method and phase-transfer method respectively. A composite organic borate ester was synthesized from these two composite to produced water base metal cutting fluids. The composite organic borate ester was characterized by fourier infrared spectrum instrument, and the performance of water base metal cutting fluids was test from 4 aspects of anticorrosion, antirust, lubricating and cleaning property. Analysis of infrared spectrum showed that the synthesize technology of composite organic borate ester was feasible. The performance of water base cutting fluids was improved with increasing the content of composite organic borate ester; the cutting fluids could keep perfect antirust properties even under higher temperatures and longer working-time conditions. When the mass ratio of composite organic borate ester was 0. 25% , the corrosion inhibiting efficiency of the cutting fluids could reach to 70% after 24 h at 60 ℃ ,the surface tension was 33. 13 × 10-4 N/dm at 25 ℃ ,the cutting fluids was qualified in antirust test at 35 ℃ and it presented perfect lubricity property.
