Monitoring the atmospheric aerosol optical characteristics in Beijing region and the regional haze event
The aerosol properties data of Beijing,China in 2013 and 2014 obtained by automatic tracking sun photometer CE-318 made in the French CEMEL company,MODIS remote sensing data and the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) weather data were all used to analyze the backward trajectories,as well as the correlation between the pollutant source and the haze event. The results showed that in the temporal, the aerosol optical thickness of spring and summer in Beijing were higher, but lower in autumn and winter. In the spatial, the main sources of aerosol particles on a large scale were the sands of Inner Mongolia region and the sea salt from the coastal waters nearby, but was man-made pollution, especially car exhaust, industrial emissions and else on a small scale. The correlation coefficients of PM10 and AOD were 0.418 and 0.599 in June 2013 and April 2014 respectively, which suggested that during the haze occurred, the correlation of PM10 and AOD was higher.
