Temporal and spatial variation characteristics analysis of aerosol around Bohai Sea region based on MODIS data
Temporal and spatial variation characteristics of aerosol optical depth (AOD) around Bohai Sea region were discussed using MODIS Level 2 product MOD04 data of Aqua satellite from National Aeronautics and Space Administration of America during 2000 to 2015.Results showed that..(1) the spatial distribution of annual AOD around Bohai Sea region was related with altitude. That is to say,AOD was low in high altitude area but high in low altitude area.Pollution was the most serious in summer. And AOD was related with air quality index (AQI).(2) During the last 16 years, annual AOD were 0.465-0.682 with an average of 0.592,much higher than that of global level (0.190).The highest annual AOD was appeared in 2012 and the lowest in 2001.Variation of monthly AOD showed double peaks with highest value in July and lowest value in December.Variation of monthly AOD was negatively related with wind speed.
