Engineering application status of indigenous microorganism in-situ remediation technology for polluted groundwater treatment
In recent years, the increasingly severe groundwater pollution in China has attracted the attention of the government.Currently, general groundwater remediation technology in China is relatively backward, with high material and energy consumption,as well as a lack of long-term treatment methods.Indigenous microbial in-situ remediation technology has advantages such as low cost, satisfactory efficacy, and low risk of ecological security, but has its scope and extend of application hampered in China due to the aforementioned technical limitations.Based on this, the research began with an review of the overall process of indigenous microbial groundwater remediation and introduced the properties as well as cultivation modes of indigenous microorganisms in soil and groundwater.Comparisons were then carried out to injection well and direct injection,as well as to the actual engineering cases reported in China and other parts of the world wherein indigenous microbial groundwater remediation was utilized. The bottlenecks arising therein were elaborated and future prospects were established.
