Study on utilizing fly ash from municipal solid waste incineration and industrial sludge for sintering ceramic pellets
In this study, five schemes were investigated for the sintering of ceramic pellets using fly ash from municipal solid waste incineration, industrial sludge, contaminated soil, and clay as raw materials. The results indicated that when the mass ratio of fly ash, industrial sludge, contaminated soil, and clay was adjusted to 2∶3∶1∶4,ceramic pellets with a bulk density of 693.9 kg/m3 and a cylinder strength of 5.48 MPa could be sintered.Alternatively,by solely utilizing fly ash and clay with a mass ratio of 7∶3,ceramic pellets exhibiting a bulk density of 859.5 kg/m3 and a cylinder compression strength of 12.97 MPa were achieved. In all five schemes, the leachable heavy metal, dioxins, soluble chlorine, sulfide and sulfate contents,as well as radioactivity of the ceramic pellets could meet the relevant requirements.
