Effects of different components of rice husk biochar on mercury accumulation by rice
Pot experiments were conducted to explore the effects of different components in BC on mercury enrichment in rice by setting up four treatments:control(CK)group, rice husk biochar(BC)group,water-washed BC group and BC leachate group. The results showed as follows:(1)Compared with CK group, the rice plant biomass in BC group,water-washed BC group and BC leachate group increased by 49.14%,24.69%and 9.62%,respectively.(2)The total mercury concentration in polished rice in CK group was 22.90 μg/kg,while the total mercury in BC group,water-washed BC group and BC leachate group was decreased by 66.29%,67.99%and 57.34%respectively.(3)Compared with CK group, the contents of dissolved and exchangeable mercury in soil were decreased by 91.20%,85.60%and 34.40%by applying BC,water-washed BC and BC leachate.(4)BC,water-washed BC,and BC leachate alleviated the enrichment of mercury in rice by increasing the biomass of rice plants, reducing the content of bioavailable mercury in soil and the total mercury content in pore water, and the performance of BC and water-washed BC was better than that of BC leachate.
