Research on the pollutant characteristics during the flood season and partition management methods in the Dianchi Lake Basin
Based on long-term rainfall data, water quality data of river, lake, and discharge outlets, this study evaluated the change in water quality of Dianchi Lake Basin and its response to rainfall. The countermeasures and suggestions for pollution control during the flood season were put forward. The results showed that:Dianchi Lake Basin had experienced a rise in rainfall intensity and short-term heavy rainfall frequency.During the flood season, pollution management was more challenging in recent years. The concentration of main pollutants was higher during flood season than that during non-flood season, and ammonia nitrogen and total phosphorus showed a clear positive association with rainfall.Combined overflow outfalls, planted outfalls, and mixed drainage drainage outfalls along river banks were the principal sources of pollution during flood season. In order to improve the fine level of pollution control in flood season,it was suggested to control the pollution during flood season in Dianchi Lake Basin by partition management to divide into the suburban mountain flood impact control area, the main city center combined overflow pollution control area, the combined overflow pollution control area outside the second ring road, the mixed flow and runoff pollution control area of the shunt drainage system, and the agricultural and rural non-point pollution control area.
