Analysis and evaluation of functional feeding group structure of macrobenthos in Cao'e River and its relationship with environmental factors
Macrobenthos,as an important component of river ecosystem,is not only an important food source for many organisms, but also an indicator of water quality. In this study,by collecting samples of macrobenthos and measuring physicochemical parameters of water and other environmental factors in Cao'e River, the species composition of macrobenthos, the structure of feeding functional groups and their relationship with environmental factors were analyzed, and the ecological quality of Cao'e River was evaluated.43 species of macrobenthos were identified in 4 phylums,19 families, belonging to 5 feeding functional groups, namely scrapers,shredders,gather-collectors,filterers and predators, among which the gather-collectors was the dominant functional group. The feeding evenness index(jFD)showed that the ecological quality of most areas was poor and significantly affected by human activities in Cao'e River. The single regression analysis showed that there was a good correlation between j FD value and Shannon-Wiener index, and j FD was more suitable to evaluate river ecological quality in the area with significant influence of human activities and large variation of benthic composition. The results of redundancy analysis showed that pH of sediment, total nitrogen, electrical conductivity and dissolved oxygen were the main environmental factors affecting feeding functional groups of macrobenthos in Cao'e River.
