Review on electrolytic technology for the remediation of eutrophic water bodies in rivers and lakes
Electrolysis technology has demonstrated the capability to efficient removal and recover pollutants, making it a promising approach for eliminating nitrogen and phosphorus pollutants from eutrophic waters in rivers and lakes. This paper comprehensively reviewed the application of electrolysis technology in this field, focusing on its mechanisms, factors affecting nitrogen and phosphorus pollutants removal, methods for recovering nitrogen and phosphorus resources, and regulatory role in aquatic ecosystems. The insights in this review offered valuable ideas for further enhancing the effectiveness of electrolysis technology in nitrogen and phosphorus treatment, thereby promoting its wider application in remediating eutrophic water bodies in rivers and lakes.
