Research progress on electrocatalytic reduction of nitrate by Cu-Pd bimetals
Large amount of domestic and industrial wastewater discharge lead to the nitrate pollution in surface water,which can pose negative impacts on aquatic ecosystems.In addition,excessive intake of nitrate converts into nitrite in human bodies,posing a harmful threat to health.Therefore,it is necessary to remove nitrate in wastewater.In recent years,electrocatalytic reduction technology has become an emerging nitrate removal technology.Appropriate electrocatalysts is one of the most important factor that affects nitrate reduction.Cu-Pd bimetallic catalyst is one of the most potential cathodes for electrocatalytic reduction of nitrate.In this paper,the optimization of the performance of Cu-Pd bimetallic catalyst and its mechanism were reviewed from aspects of material preparation methods,carrier optimization and influencing factors.The problems and optimization directions of Cu-Pd bimetallic catalyst in the process of electrocatalytic reduction of nitrates were put forward,aiming to provide reference for Cu-Pd bimetallic materials electrocatalytic reduction of nitrates.
