Study on the localization of carbon emission factors for enterprise production based on time series monitoring data
In order to promote key enterprises to carry out carbon emission reduction work,it was necessary to enhance the capability of carbon emission monitoring and study localized carbon emission factors. This study conducted localized research on carbon emission factors based on time series monitoring data.Taking three power plants and one water purification plant in a southern region as case studies for power plants and wastewater treatment plants, the research conducted process carbon emission monitoring, obtained localized carbon emission factors, and compared them with the values recommended by the"2019 Refinement to the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories"(hereinafter referred to as IPCC 2019).The results indicated that the localized emission factor for gas-fired power plants was 0.048 8 t/GJ and that for coal-fired power plants was 0.096 1 t/GJ for CO2,close to the values recommended by IPCC 2019.For waste incineration power plants, the localized emission factor was 1.978 t/t for CO2,for which IPCC did not provide a reference value. The localized emission factors for the water purification plant were 0.010 kg/kg for CH4 and 0.003 kg/kg for N2 O,showing a significant deviation from the values recommended by IPCC 2019.The research methodology could be utilized as auxiliary means for measurement of carbon emissions, which enhanced the accuracy and timeliness of carbon emission factor identification. It could provide a reference for environmental management departments in setting carbon emission reduction planning.
