Case study and accounting model construction of carbon emission reduction for refuse derived fuels
In order to analyze and evaluate the carbon emission reduction potential of refuse derived fuel(RDF)compared with coal fuel(CF),and to explore ways to reduce energy carbon emissions, the study took the RDF prepared by waste refrigerator polyurethane foam(PUF)as an example, established the carbon emission accounting model of RDF,improved the carbon emission reduction accounting system of RDF,and analyzed the carbon emission and emission reduction characteristics of different links of fuel. The results showed that:1)In 2021,PUF generated from China's waste refrigerators could prepare 143 000 tons of waste polyurethane foam derived fuel(PUDF),which could replace 138 000 tons of CF and reduce carbon emissions by 129 000 tons;the replacement of CF by PUDF was an effective way to reduce carbon emissions.2)The carbon emissions from the combustion process of PUDF and CF accounted for 93.7%and 95.6%respectively,and were the main sources of carbon emissions;the carbon emission of acquisition process accounted for 6.3%and 4.4%respectively,and the carbon emission contribution was small.3)Compared with CF,PUDF reduced 28.5%of carbon emissions in the combustion process, which was the main contributor to carbon emission reduction. The carbon emissions of the acquisition process were similar, the carbon emissions accounted for less than 10%,and the space for carbon emission reduction was limited.4)RDF and biomass molding fuel(BMF),as alternative fuels to coal, could effectively reduce the carbon emissions of fossil energy, and was an important way to achieve the construction of"waste free city"and the goal of dual carbon.
