Research progress on emission characteristics and control technologies of volatile sulfur compounds in municipal wastewater treatment plants
Volatile sulfur compounds(VSCs)have low threshold and high toxicity.The odor pollution caused by VSCs is a problematic issue in air pollution control.Municipal wastewater treatment plants are important emission sources of VSCs.The effective control of VSCs is an important aspect to improve urban environmental quality and sustainable development.This paper summarized the emission characteristics of VSCs in municipal wastewater treatment plants,as well as the research progress of source control technologies and end-of-pipe treatment technologies.Future research directions and perspectives were also proposed to provide theoretical guidance and technical support for developing and applying VSCs control technologies in municipal wastewater treatment plants.
