Discharge characteristics and removal effects under centralized collection and treatment of domestic wastewater in a rural area of northern China
Aiming at 75 rural domestic wastewater treatment stations in the north of China, their actual operation data from September 2022 to February 2024 were used to systematically analyze the characteristics of influent water quantity and quality of rural domestic wastewater in the region, and discuss the removal effect of A3O+MBBR process. The results show that the residents of rural areas in the north of China have the habit of using water to keep constant water flow in the pipelines for avoiding the freezing of downpipes at low temperatures in winter, and the characteristics of the population flow of rural residents who go out to work and return to their hometowns during holidays lead to the increase in influent water quantity and the decrease of pollutants concentration of the wastewater treatment stations in winter. The influent water quantities of three different design sizes wastewater treatment stations are 0~60,0~160,and 0~180 m3·d-1,and COD,NH3-N,TN,and TP values are 0~200,0~50,0~4,and 0~50 mg·L-1,respectively,and the nitrogen in this area is mainly in the form of ammonia nitrogen.A3O+MBBR process basically meets the needs of centralized integrated treatment of domestic wastewater in rural areas of northern China, the COD,NH3-N,TN,and TP removal rates of the three design sizes of wastewater treatment stations were 71.55%~78.76%,93.34%~94.73%,87.99%~88.92%,and 61.69%~71.38%respectively,for some anomalies in influent water quality,it is necessary to adjust the appropriate C/N ratio to satisfy the removal effect.
