Situation analysis of marine carbon sinks contributing to carbon neutralization
The ocean is the largest carbon reservoir in the Earth system, having absorbed nearly 40%of carbon emissions since the Industrial Revolution, and is the key to understanding the global carbon cycle and solving future climate problems. In order to understand the policies of governments(institutions)around the world on marine carbon sink and the effective ways to realize marine carbon sink,we studied the current status and evolution of the research on marine carbon sink's contribution to carbon neutrality through the policy tracking and analysis of major countries(institutions)and quantitative analysis methods based on bibliometrics, and conducted the assessment and prediction of cutting-edge technologies and methods of marine carbon sink. From the perspective of global marine carbon sequestration policies and technologies, western countries such as the United States and the European Union(such as Germany and France)have relatively advanced policy formulation, and academic research started the earliest, published the most papers, and had the greatest influence. From the perspective of realization approach, marine physical, chemical and biological marine negative emission technologies are booming, but biological marine negative emission technologies are the most effective, reliable and easy to achieve at present.
