Preliminary association between dyslipidemia and arsenic, lead and seven other metals in whole blood of adult in Guangzhou
Objective To explore the correlation between dyslipidemia and the concentrations of arsenic(As)and lead(Pb)and seven other metals in whole blood of adult in Guangzhou. Methods Adopt community recruitment approach and 245 adults were in our study for physical examination, blood examination and questionnaire survey.Chromium(Cr),cobalt(Co),arsenic(As),molybdenum(Mo),cadmium(Cd),antimony(Sb)and lead(Pb)were detected in whole blood. Results The median values of As and Pb in dyslipidemia group were 2.39 μg/L and 27.48 μg/L,in respectively, which were higher than those in normal group(1.90 μg/L and 20.85 μg/L).There was no significant difference in the other 5 metals between the two groups.Logistic regression analysis showed that age(1.036,1.013-1.059),waist circumference(1.025,1.004-1.047),As(1.350,1.068-1.705)and Pb(1.031,1.004-1.057)increased,which increased the risk of dyslipidemia. And being unmarried(0.295,0.095-0.920)can reduce the risk of dyslipidemia. Conclusion Abnormal blood lipid metabolism in adults was related to the concentration of arsenic and lead in whole blood, which suggested that we should be paid attention to heavy metal levels in adults.
