Health risk and toxic effects of organophosphorus flame retardants in environmental matrix on human skin:a review
Organophosphate flame retardants(OPFRs)are widely used after the ban of brominated flame retardants(BFRs).The resulting environmental problems and human health risks have drawn much attention.A large number of studies have shown that OPFRs have neurotoxic, carcinogenic and endocrine disrupting effects on organisms. In addition,OPFRs can produce toxic effects on human skin and other cells, reducing cell viability and inducing cell cycle arrest and apoptosis, but the associated mechanism has not been thoroughly studied. In this paper, the environmental existence of OPFRs,the exposure of OPFRs to human skin, and the toxic effects as well as the toxicological mechanisms were summarized. Finally, the deficiencies and problems of OPFRs on human dermal toxicity were discussed, and some suggestions were put forward to provide some references for the research of OPFRs on human dermal toxicity.
