Today,air pollution is considered one of the most serious environmental threats to health worldwide,closely linked to diseases and premature death.In recent years,the research on ambient air pollutants and asthma has increased rapidly,yet these research results have not been systematically summarized and sorted out.This paper,based on the published epidemiological studies,reviewed the impact of ambient air pollution on bronchial asthma,including increased risk of acute exacerbations,increased morbidity,decreased lung function,decreased drug efficacy,and regulation of the effects of other environmental factors.It also delved into the health benefits and risks of various coping countmeasures available for individual choice.
